Set up from the endoscopy, scan or pathology report

Start with normal anatomy. Use the endoscopy, EUS, CT or pathology report to show where a tumour in the oesophagus or stomach is, how long it is and how deep it has grown, then show the treatment your team has discussed. Initial tumour settings are examples: replace them with the report details. One tumour is illustrated.

Where the tumour isUse the centre of the tumour, as written in the report. The thirds of the oesophagus are drawn as equal schematic lengths.

Length mm

Use the length along the oesophagus or stomach, from endoscopy, EUS or CT, as written in the report.

How deep it has grown (T stage in the report)Enter the T stage as written by the team. The model draws it; it does not work out the stage. T4a and T4b are both drawn as T4.

How far round the wall (optional)If not entered, about a third of the way round is drawn as an example.

Place, length, T stage and how far round come from the report. The wall layers, the tumour’s shape and which side of the wall it is drawn on are schematic. Lymph nodes and spread elsewhere are not shown.

Views and layers

Use Whole body, Chest and abdomen and Close-up to move closer in the same scene. Adding a tumour opens a cut-away through the front of the wall. The lungs and heart are see-through. Show / hide controls the body outline, chest organs, aorta, abdominal organs, spine, the cut-away, measurements and labels.
