Guide

For the clinical team

Set up from the scan or bladder test report

Start with normal anatomy. Use the ultrasound, MRI, bladder scan or flow test report to show how big the prostate is, whether a middle lobe pushes into the bladder and how well the bladder empties, then show the treatment your team has discussed. Initial settings are examples: replace them with the report details.

Report findings

Findings on the model

Changing a setting below also adds them.

Prostate volume mL

From the ultrasound or MRI report. A typical adult prostate is about 20 to 30 mL.

The report describes a middle lobe pushing up into the bladderSometimes written as a median lobe or intravesical protrusion. Its size is illustrative.

Urine left after passing urine mL

The residual volume from a bladder scan, as written in the report.

Show the urine left in the bladderTicked when you set the amount above. Leave it unticked if the report gives no residual volume.

The report describes a thickened bladder wallDrawn schematically; no thickness is shown.

Volume, middle lobe, residual urine and wall thickening come from the report. The prostate and bladder are smooth shapes scaled to the entered volumes; the inner part, the middle lobe and the narrowing of the urethra are schematic. Flow rate, symptom scores and other test results are not shown.

Views and layers

Use Whole body, Pelvis and Prostate to move closer in the same scene. Adding findings opens a cut down the middle, seen from the patient’s left. Show / hide controls the body outline, seminal vesicles, rectum and pelvic floor, sacrum, the cut-away, measurements and labels.

Side view down the middle

A schematic side view down the middle of the body: front on the left. It shows the bladder, any urine left in it, the prostate with the urethra running through it, and the rectum behind. This is not the patient’s scan.

In plain words

Key measurements

Values come from the report. The prostate and bladder are drawn to the entered volumes as smooth, simplified shapes.

Treatment options

Show the treatment your team has discussed

Choose a picture of the planned treatment. The model does not select a treatment.

Show

Steam treatment (Rezum), prostate artery embolisation and other operations are not shown. Your team can explain them.

Share with the patient

Make a picture sheet to send

Set up each view you want, then press Snapshot above the model. You can add up to 4. If you add none, the current view is used.
