For the clinical team

Set up from the imaging report

Start with normal anatomy. Use the mammogram, ultrasound, MRI or pathology report to show where a confirmed tumour is and how big it is, then show the operation your team has discussed. Initial tumour settings are examples: replace them with the report details. One tumour is illustrated.

As on the report: a clock face seen by someone facing the patient. 12 is the top; the armpit side is 3 o’clock on the left breast and 9 o’clock on the right.

Distance from the nipple mm

0 to 10 mm is shown as just behind the nipple.

Longest diameter mm

Use the size on imaging or pathology, as written in the report.

Depth in the breast

The report describes an abnormal armpit lymph nodeShows one armpit node in purple. It does not show how many nodes are involved.

Clock position, distance, size and depth come from the report. The breast’s shape, the tumour’s rounded shape and the lymph nodes’ positions are schematic. More than one tumour, spread beyond the armpit and changes in the skin are not shown.

Views and layers
